The salary of the postal agent is dollars 60 per mensem,
and a payment of dollars 20 per mensem commencing from
January 1st 1906 to Mr. Malone as clerk has been sanctioned
by the Hongkong Postal Authorities.
There are also two Chinese postmen appointed by Hongkong.
The British Postal Agency is the only Post Office in
Hankow that pays its way, the average net revenue being dollars 700-800 per month.
The Agency is occasionally visited by the Hongkong Postal
Accountant, the last inspection being made on November 7th;
and the Agent's monthly accounts are checked by a member of the
consulate staff.
